ST. MARY’S PARISH TO HOLD SEPTEMBERFEST BENEFIT
St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield will be hosting their annual SEPTEMBERFEST on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 11 to 4. According to Reverend Msgr. Stephen Avila, "The origins of Septemberfest go back over 25 years ago when a group of parishioners suggested a fun day to get together with other families. While Septemberfest is much larger than those days, it is still for us a day for local families to come gather and enjoy one another's company.” Septemberfest will be held on the parish grounds located at 330 Pratt Street.
This year will feature many fun filled events and activities, including cash raffles of $1,500, $500, and $300. A sampling of the items available at the silent auction and small raffle tables include restaurant gift certificates, spa treatments, children’s items, theater tickets, sporting event tickets, and other unique items. Wingmasters, new this year, will be exhibiting North American Birds of Prey. Many Antique and Classic Cars will be on hand. Other events include a karate demonstration; performances by a variety of local dance groups; a DJ; homemade food; baked goods; craft booths (many handmade items); and used books. Activities include pony rides; train rides; a bungee run; hair braiding; face painting and other classic carnival games for kids, including a prize table.
