Mansfield Mothers Club: Beginning Blogging!

The Mansfield Mothers Club is starting its first blog. We'll share our activities and topics related to family and our community. Feedback is welcome.

Welcome, readers! The members of the Mansfield Mothers Club are excited to launch our very first blog here, on the Mansfield Patch site. We’ve got more than 150 members who are smart, funny, caring parents with all of support and ideas to share with the community.

Each month we’ll aim to share some highlights of our upcoming events, ways to involve your kids in the season and some of our own opinions and comments on parenting issues and topics du jour.

If you are not already familiar with us, The Mansfield Mothers' Club is a non-profit organization aimed at providing support for parents in Mansfield, Mass. Our organization’s goals include providing a forum for relevant topics to mothers (and a few dads, too!), engaging in activities that enrich the lives of our children, as well as performing service projects that benefit mothers and children.

Our members, and therefore our voices, are as diverse as our town. We having working parents, full-time parents, townies and transplants. The thread that unites us all is the fact that we love our kids to our core and care about bringing them up the best we can. We support each other through our health struggles and guilt; we understand that we’re all not perfect. We have fun trying new things with our kids and take comfort in the traditions of family and friends.

Annual dues are $25, and members are welcome to participate in any or all activities. These activities include playgroups, group outings or projects, monthly Moms' Night Out and Moms' Night In, as well as monthly business meetings. With the exception of Moms' Night Out and Moms' Night In, all activities are held during the day where children are always welcomed.

We also have a very active Yahoo! Group, a Facebook group and a monthly newsletter where we exchange questions and answers, share toys and clothing and generally “get each other’s backs.”

We’re looking forward to sharing with you on this blog some of the community services projects we engage in such as contributing to Our Daily Bread food pantry, Room To Grow which aims to enrich the lives of babies born into poverty and to raising money for the American Cancer Society through Mansfield’s Relay For Life.
