Mansfield Mothers' Club: Members Name Favorite Apps

While so much of what we parents do is low-tech from diapering to mealtime and naptime battles to playground and beach entertainment, we’re an increasingly tech-savvy bunch -- especially if the tech makes our lives easier.

In the latest issue of our Club newsletter, we popped the question to our members, “What’s Your Favorite App?” Here are some of the replies:

Leah Apazidis: KINDLE, For me, right now, it has to be the Kindle App. While not very original, it keeps me busy while pumping at work and that helps me stay motivated to keep up with it. I actually look forward to pumping now because it’s a break from work and I can catch up on whatever book I am reading.

Jen Winrow: EVERNOTE, A single place to organize all your notes, lists, PDFs, web links, and pictures. I’ve used it a lot while redecorating. For example, I took a picture of a lamp I liked and put it in a note along with the manufac- turer’s website. Any note can be shared so it has been useful when my husband

and I are running separate errands.

Linda Aber: TOONTASTIC, Your kids (3 and up) will leave you alone for hours with this app. Mir-a-cle! It allows them to create their own video cartoons with art (prefab or they can draw their own), animation, music and voiceovers. Afterwards, you have a really cute, giggle-inducing video to share or keep forever. Material for a future high school graduation party? I think so!

Theresa Freeman (that’s me!): NETFLIX, Ok, it’s screen time for them, but the streaming shows keep younger siblings happy during older kids sports practices and makes post office and doctor’s office waits more bearable; HOOTSUITE, I can easily catch up on the news of import trending on Twitter, from real life to celebrity hijinks; POCKETBOOTH, Photobooth style pics keep all of us in giggles. (And, I love checking out the “Starbucks Pick of the Week” free apps, books, songs and TV shows available at stores.)

And, we love advice on the best parenting apps (including one of the best names out there, “Remember the Milk,”) from:
