Moms Lend Support to Neighbors

Our town's moms have really been stepping up to the plate recently.

Our town’s moms have really been stepping up to the plate recently.

The members of The Mansfield Mothers’ Club last week donated approximately 100 homemade baked good to Our Daily Bread, Mansfield food pantry. This meant the clients of the food pantry could have an extra cheerful Thanksgiving holiday with fresh breads, cookies, brownies and other sweet treats.

Many of our members dug deep in their own budgets and schedules to freely give of their time and resources to share goodies with our neighbors here in town. We’re humbled by their generosity.

Our Club also is giving a big, appreciative thank you and high-five to our members, residents in our community and those from other towns who helped us raise $1061.69 for Our Daily Bread at our Shop Til You Drop event on Nov. 8!

In this, our eighth year, we had many local and national businesses help our put on a fun event focused on raising money for the food pantry. They included:

Our Daily Bread serves on average 100 families – our neighbors – every week with food and staples to balance the meals going on their tables. We’re honored to be the only organization that provides baked goods to the food pantry, and to offer this financial assistance this year.

And, since many of our members have kids in the Mansfield public schools, we’re also well aware of the tremendous things MESA is doing this year to collect clothing for the West Side Benevolent Circle, which last year served 129 families. Bravo, folks!

As our nation gives thanks this week for all the good things in out lives, we in the Mansfield Mothers’ Club are thankful to live in such a caring community that works together to make a difference!
