Adriel Irmiah Preger, 40, of Mansfield, formerly of Easton, passed away on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

He was the son of Dario R. Preger and the late Mirta G. (Rendler) Preger and stepson of Nancy L. Brush.

Born in Israel on Dec. 26, 1973, he moved to the United States with his parents at the age of 8.

Adriel studied at The New England Conservatory of Music and Berklee College of Music.

He began teaching and performing professionally at age 16 and then began his own entertainment business centering on live music and DJ services by age 18.

Adriel was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2000, which caused partial loss of hand movement. He then turned to the steel guitar. In turn, he started Adriel Azure's Dream Indigo Orchestra, which created original material for film, games and orchestral performances.

In 2010, Mack the service dog entered his life and became a loyal companion. Black and white in color, Mack was always at Adriel's side in his "tuxedo."

Adriel enjoyed life and truly loved to spread joy through entertainment and share his appreciation of music. He was active in many, many things that were near and dear to his heart, including motivational speaking and advocacy for disabled children, adults and service animal awareness.

In addition to his father and stepmother, Adriel leaves his step-sister, Phoebe S. Brush of North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Rebeca (Nemirovski) of Brookline; two aunts: Annie Abas of Israel and Gloria Zacepitzky of Brookline; and a cousin, Ari Zacepitzky of Brookline. He also leaves many cousins and other family members in Israel.
