OBITUARY-Jack Conway

Mr. Conway's will be buried St. Mary's Cemetery, Scituate. His real estate company has offices in Mansfield and Norton.

 

John E. "Jack" of Scituate died July 23, 2012 at age 88 at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth. He is the loving husband of Patricia (Carroll) Conway.

The founder and Chairman of Jack Conway & Company, Jack was the former President of the Mass. Association of Realtors and Vice-President of the National Association of Realtors, and was named the state's Realtor of the Year in 1971.

He served as President of the Plymouth County Development Council, the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, the Scituate Chamber of Commerce and the Brockton Metro Chamber. He also served as president of the Relo International, and was a founding member of Leading Real Estate Companies of the Word.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Conway served during World War II, and was a candidate for U.S. Congress in 1982.

Mr. Conway was a member of the American Legion Post #144, the development council of Stonehill College, the board of South Shore Hospital and a founding member of the Ambassadors of Holy Cross. He was a Knight of Malta.

He  is survived by three children; Jack and his wife Carol of Florida, Barbara of Scituate, and Carol Bulman and her husband Michael of Scituate, three siblings; William of Florida, Elizabeth "Wiffy" Grozier of Falmouth, and Carol Kermond of Winchester, six grandchildren; Kristin Conway of Miami, Melissa Bradshaw and her husband Michael of Virginia, Kaitlin Bulman of NYC, Corinne Nagle and her husband Kevin of Scituate, Jack Bulman and his wife Alexis of Scituate, and Michael Bulman of Scituate, four great-grandchildren; Ally Rose, Zoey, Colin, and Fin. Mr. Conway is the brother of the late Edward Conway.

Visiting hours will be held at St. Mary's Church, 1 Kent St, Scituate on Thursday, July 26, from 3-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church on Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m. followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Scituate.
