Joseph Figueiredo Jr., 51, died Saturday, Sept. 22, after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of Karen E. (Costello) Figueiredo. Born in Somerville, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a longtime resident of Stoughton before moving to Mansfield 21 years ago.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Figueiredo was a member of Teamsters Local 25 in Boston since 1996 and worked as a Low Bed Driver for several area construction companies. He was an animal lover, especially his dog Rudy. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and most of all spending time with his children and family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons; Joseph F. Figueiredo and Francis J. Figueiredo both of Mansfield.
He was the son of Armenia (DaCosta) Figueiredo of Middleboro and the late Joseph Figueiredo. He was the brother of Joann Wood of Bridgewater, John Figueiredo of Brockton, Susan Ray of New Bedford and the late Edward Figueiredo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral prayers were offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, Sept 29 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours were Friday, Sept. 28 from 4 - 8 p.m. Cremation followed services.
