Obituary: Lisa B. Banat

The following is the obituary of Lisa B. Banat.

Lisa B. Banat, 19, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 15, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident in West Bridgewater.

Born in Boston, MA on May 13, 1993, she was the loving daughter of Bernard and Danuta (Wegrzynowski) Banat of Mansfield.

Lisa grew up in Mansfield and was a 2011 graduate of Mansfield High School. She had recently completed her freshman year at Bristol Community College and had dreamed of becoming a psychologist.

At the age of nine years old, Lisa began horseback riding, which became her passion in life. She loved riding and attending competitions. She also played piano and loved listening to music.

Being a typical teenage girl, she loved hanging out and socializing with friends. Trips to the beach and sun tanning were also a favorite pastime of hers, as was fitness and trips to the gym.

Lisa was a member of the Easton Baptist church, where she had also been baptized. She had a big heart, always thought positive and could always be counted on to help others. With her grace and big smile, she could light up a room without saying a word. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her beloved brother Peter B. Banat and his girlfriend Nicole Waldron of Mansfield. She is also survived by her dear godmother and aunt, Jola Bosek and her husband Jerry of Saugus, her dear godfather, Frank Konopka and his wife Ela of Chelsea, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family in Germany and Poland.

Memorial Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, July 23rd at 11:00 A.M. in the Easton Baptist Church, 197 Bay Road, North Easton. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 22nd from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, Lisa’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Easton Baptist Church, 197 Bay Road, North Easton, MA 02356.
