Micki’s grades allowed her the distinction of being an honor student, but it was on the playing field where she really shined. She was a stand out member on the girls' varsity lacrosse team. Playing lacrosse was her main goal and she had also participated in basketball, soccer and track.

A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Micki was an active member and a former swim team member at the Hockomock YMCA in North Attleboro. She had also volunteered at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro and at Hessco Elder Services in Sharon.

Micki was truly a typical “all American teenage girl.” She was kind hearted to all, determined, independent and smart. She loved spending time with friends and will always be remembered for her best quality, the simple pleasure of making those around her laugh.

In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her dear and devoted sister and brother; Danielle L. Smith of Attleboro and Luke M. Smith of North Smithfield, RI. She was the cherished granddaughter of Bertha “Bobbie” Keating of Westwood and is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 12,  from 4-8 p.m. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, the Smith family has requested that contributions in Michaela’s memory be made to the Michaela M. Smith Scholarship Fund, care of Mansfield Bank, 80 North Main St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
