OBITUARY-Nancy Lombardo Kitchen

Mrs. Kitchen was the Mansfield High athletic department's secretary.

Nancy (Lombardo) Kitchen, 65, of Mansfield, passed away surrounded by her loving family, at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Michael Kitchen to whom she was wed on May 1, 1971.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on Sept. 14, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Lucy (Nappi) Lombardo.

Mrs. Kitchen grew up and was educated in Warren, Rhode Island. She was a 1964 graduate of Warren High School.

Mrs. Kitchen was a retired Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director at Mansfield High School. Following a 22 year career at Mansfield High School, she recently retired on Aug. 15, 2011.

A resident of Mansfield for the past 35 years, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.

Her family was the focal point of her life and she was especially devoted to her adoring grandchildren. Ms. Kitchen loved traveling and had extensively traveled throughout Europe. One of her favorite places to vacation was in the Caribbean’s and had recently enjoyed a wonderful vacation with her family spent on Grand Cayman Island.

Mrs. Kitchen was also an avid New England Sports fan and her favorite team to cheer on was the Boston Red Sox.

In addition to her beloved husband of 40 years, she is survived by her devoted daughters Kerri Langone and her husband Stephen of Walpole and Lori Coby and her husband Aaron of Foxboro. The cherished grandmother of Lucas and Marissa Langone and Makenna Coby, she is also survived by two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, Nov, 27, at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
