Obituary: Nancy Pierce

The following is the obituary for Nancy B. (Ryan) Pierce, of Mansfield.

Nancy B. (Ryan) Pierce, 88, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October, 7, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Garden Place in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Pierce.

Born in Norwood, MA on August 29, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Elizabeth (Woodfin) Ryan.

Nancy grew up in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole High School. She was wed to her late husband Bob on September 19, 1952 and served as a dedicated homemaker to her cherished family.

A resident of Mansfield for the past 45 years, Mrs. Pierce was an active member of the First Christian Church of West Mansfield. She was a former member of the church choir and throughout the years had served in many church organizations. Her favorite times by far, were those spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted children, Charles A. Pierce and his wife Shelly of California, Lauri B. Baptiste and her husband Raymond of Attleboro, Jonathan W. Pierce and his wife Martha of Mansfield, Kristina K. Bizier and her husband Paul of Attleboro, Benjamin R. Pierce and his wife Jade of California and the late Robert A. Pierce. The dear sister of Robert F. Ryan of California, Margaret Baker of Washington and Jeanne Mansen of Hudson, she is also survived by her adoring 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday. October 11th at 11:00 A.M. in the First Christian Church of West Mansfield, 11 Otis St., West Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:30 P.M.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 10th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
