Obituary: Remembering Mansfield Resident and Celtics Fan Eleanor Jean Constantino

Mansfield resident Jean Constantino passed away at the age of 83.

Jean R. (Campisi) Constantino, age 83 of Mansfield, formerly of Roslindale, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 21, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis P. Constantino.

Born in Boston, MA on October 12, 1929, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Greco) Campisi.

Jean grew up and was educated in the Hyde Park section of Boston and had attended the former Burdett School of Business, also in Boston.

For many years prior to retiring, Mrs. Constantino had been employed as a bookkeeper and following retirement, had worked part time in the food service department for the Mansfield public school system.

A resident of Mansfield for the past 17 years, Jean was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and had volunteered at the churches annual “Septemberfest”. She had also volunteered at the Mansfield Council on Aging and was a former volunteer at the Holy Name School in West Roxbury,

Jeans other memberships included being a member of the Dedham Community Club, the Parkway Seniors Club in Roslindale and being a member and past president of the Italian Women’s Club.

Mrs. Constantino was an avid Boston Celtics fan and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Jean was always there to help out others and will always be remembered for her charitable nature.

She is survived by her devoted children, Robert F. Constantino and his wife Dorothy of Attleboro, Elaine P. Webber and her husband Michael of Mansfield and David F. Constantino and his wife Janet of Franklin. She was the dear sister of the late Angelo Campisi, Marie Nanez and Rachel Florio, and is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Andrea and Rob Constantino, Rose ,Christina and Mary Constantino, Mark Webber and the late Bryan Webber. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including her godchild Linda Workman, whom she loved as a daughter.

Her Funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, February 27th at 9:30 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 26th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
