Robert A. Bogdanchik, 66, Former Mansfield Resident

Robert A. Bogdanchik, 66, of Chantilly, Va., formerly of Mansfield and Canton, died suddenly on Jan. 21. 

Born in Milford, he was raised in Mansfield, and graduated from Mansfield High School and Tufts University.

He previously worked for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections in the Reception Diagnostic Center for 13 years, and later went to work for GTE and most recently CSC in Virginia as a senior manager of security services.

He has lived in Chantilly for the last 20 years.

He was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast who loved the Patriots and Red Sox. He was a member of several professional security services organizations and a former member of the Blue Hill Masons Lodge in Canton.

He leaves his wife Marsha A. (Jenkins); his children  Jo A. Campbell and her husband Michael of Manchester, N.H., Stephanie Hartnett and her husband David of Roslindale, and Paula J. and her husband David DeCotret of Cumberland, R.I.

He also leaves his grandchildren Valerie, Robert, and Olivia Hartnett, and Ashley Campbell; and his siblings Walter Jr. and his wife Elaine of Mansfield, Virginia Downey and her husband Stephen of Attleboro, and Cynthia Kerr and her husband Jeffrey of Walpole; his siblings-in-law George Jenkins and his wife Marla, William Jenkins and his wife Judy, and Eleanor Connolly and her husband John, all of Canton, and Patricia Cavuoto and her husband Frank of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St., Canton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Wednesday morning at 11 at the United Church of Christ, 1541 Washington St., Canton. Burial at Canton Corner Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701, or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210.
