Thomas M. Carroll, 85 of Mansfield

Thomas M. Carroll, 85, of Mansfield, formerly a longtime resident of Norwood, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Ballyconneely, County Galway, Ireland on April 30, 1928, he was the son of Patrick and Mary Ann (McDonough) Carroll.  

Tom was the beloved husband of Nora (McDonough) Carroll of Mansfield, the loving father of Eileen Corcoran, Ann Benner, both of Mansfield, Theresa Carroll of Sagamore Beach, John Carroll and his wife, Jennifer of Wrentham, and Brenda and her husband, Michael Caissie of Taunton; the cherished grandfather of  Stephen and Ashley Corcoran, Daniel Benner, Jennifer and Justine Marshalsea, Thomas Carroll and Matthew and Timothy Caissie; dear brother of Michael and Mary Carroll of London, England Teresa Carroll of Sligo, Ireland, and the late James, John, William and Patrick Carroll, Bridie Boylan, Maggie Baker, Maisie Curran and Eileen Carroll; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Thomas was a member of the Laborer’s Local #223 in Dorchester for many years until his retirement.  He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Timothy Parishes in Norwood and most recently of St. Mary in Mansfield.  

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 9 a.m. at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.  

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 25, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral  home.
