Great Opportunity to Learn About Common Core

On Tuesday night, February 25th, residents of Mansfield and surrounding towns will have a tremendous opportunity to hear from a distinguished panel of experts on the Common Core education standards – and to have their questions answered by the panel. The panel is well-balanced, with speakers supporting and opposing Common Core.

The panel includes: Dr. Sandra Stotsky, a former member of the Common Core Validation Committee who refused to sign off on the standards as adopted; Linda M. Noonan, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education; Jamie Gass, Director of the Pioneer Institute’s Center for School Reform; Mary Anne Alliegro of Liberty Chalkboard; Chad d’Entremont, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Rennie Center for Education Research & Policy; and Dr. Elizabeth Gonsalves, ELA Department Chair for Grades 6 – 12 in the Abington Public School system and a PARCC Fellow.

Most of the panel will be addressing legislators on Beacon Hill on Tuesday before coming to Mansfield to speak to you. Whether you support Common Core, oppose it or just want to learn more, this is a great opportunity. So join us at the Mansfield High School auditorium Tuesday night, February 25th, at 7:00 p.m.
