Update: 11:45 a.m.:
At 9:39 a.m. Thursday morning, a suspect robbed the Sharon Credit Union on 100 Forbes Blvd. in Mansfield and fled the scene.
Mansfield Police Lieutenant Sam Thompson said that the suspect was a black male, wearing a black ski mask, a dark hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers.
He said after taking a currently unknown amount of money from the bank, the suspect ran behind the building through the woods to a vehicle already waiting on Walnut Street.
The vehicle was described as a new-model gray or green Dodge Charger or Dodge Avenger.
He said that the police then canvassed the entire area, including the business park, the hotels and restaurants but didn't find the suspect vehicle.
Thompson said that Mansfield Detective Paul Hargadon is handling the investigation locally, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Massachusetts State Police and neighboring communities.
Reports are currently coming in regarding a bank robbery at the Mansfield Sharon Credit Union at around 9:45 a.m.
At this time, the suspect has been described as a male wearing jeans and a blue shirt, driving a green or gray Dodge Charger.
Reports also state that the suspect showed a large firearm during the robbery.
