Dedication of the Walter P. Langley Memorial Underpass

The Mansfield PD invite the public to join them in honoring Patrolman Walter Langley, who was killed in the line of duty.

The members of the Mansfield Police Department invite the public to join them at the dedication of the Patrolman Walter P. Langley Memorial Underpass on Sunday June 29th, at 11am.

Patrolman Walter Langley was struck and killed by a drunk driver while checking on a disabled motor vehicle at the Copeland Drive underpass on October 2, 1983. In his honor, the underpass will be renamed the Patrolman Walter P. Langley Memorial Underpass, after the bill submitted by State Representative Jay Barrows of Mansfield was signed into law by Governor Patrick.

The dedication ceremony will be held at the intersection of Copeland Drive and West Street, and is open to the public. Members of the Langley family will be in attendance, along with present and retired members of the Mansfield Police Department and local politicians.
