Mansfield Drunk Driver's Car Sent Airborne in Horrific Crash, Cops Say

A 23-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday morning.

A local woman is lucky to be alive after police said she was drunk when she blew through an intersection on Plain Street and struck a boulder, sending her vehicle flying over a truck before crashing in someone's backyard.

The 23-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was arrested Wednesday morning.

Police said at about 1:30 a.m., they got a call of a serious crash. Officers arrived and said they saw the woman standing outside of a wrecked vehicle.

Police said she was driving east on Plain Street when she blew a stop sign and barreled across an intersection, striking a boulder. The impact sent her vehicle flying over a truck parked in the driveway of a home. Her vehicle then crashed and rolled over in the backyard.

Police said the woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were non-life-threatening. She was expected to be arraigned in Attleboro District Court Wednesday.
