Foxborough Suspect at Large after B&Es and a Hit and Run in Mansfield

Mansfield Police chase suspect through Otis St. Ball fields.

Mansfield Police made a run around the bases on Wednesday through the Otis St. baseball fields to apprehend a fleeing suspect.

Derek Beatty, 31, of 56 Willow St. in Foxborough is charged with leaving the scene of property damage (hit and run), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation.

A caller originally reported Beatty’s behavior as a possible drunk driver. Police pulled him over on Balcom Street, and Beatty allegedly ran from the vehicle after his vehicle struck a utility pole. Police chased him through the baseball fields in the area.
