Ana M. Barajas, 22, of the 4000 block of Blackhawk Lane in Lisle, was charged with aggravated robbery after allegedly holding up a Philips 66, 1107 E. Ogden Ave., around 5:56 p.m. yesterday, according to a Naperville Police Department release.
A gas station employee told police a masked person armed with a black, semi-automatic handgun demanded money from the register, police said. The suspect robbed $300 and 10 packs of cigarettes from the gas station.
The suspect was described as a short female Hispanic wearing a mask and hooded sweatshirt, police said.
A little more than an hour later, a similar attempted armed robbery occurred at CD One Price Cleaners, 340 E. Ogden Ave., around 7:16 p.m., according to the release.
Employees at CD One Price Cleaners recognized the suspect’s voice as a former employee and Barajas ultimately revealed herself and was then also recognized as former classmate, police said.
Barajas was later arrested outside her Lisle apartment and charged with aggravated robbery.
After obtaining a warrant, police searched Barajas' apartment and evidence of the crime was recovered, according to police.
She was transported to DuPage County Jail and her court date is unknown at this time.
