Man Arrested in Mansfield for Drug Trafficking

A 32-year-old Charlestown man was arrested for having 22 grams of Cocaine and more than $2,000 cash after a routine traffic stop in Mansfield, according to the Sun Chronicle

State Police said Elias Rodriguez was stopped on Interstate 95 South in Mansfield just south of Interstate 495 around 11 a.m. Thursday. Police checked his car on a warrant charging him with driving to endanger, when they discovered a bag with 23 separate plastic bags containing 21.7 grams of suspected cocaine and $2,412 cash.

Rodriguez pleaded innocent in Attleboro District Court to trafficking in cocaine and a civil registration sticker violation. He was ordered held in jail on $10,000 cash bail or $100,000 surety and the case was continued to Feb. 14.
