An Irish man was mourned after police said he drowned in a pool at a home in Mansfield earlier this month.
Caolan Winterson, 23 of Freanagh, Ireland, was pulled from the pool at 79 Colonial Dr. on July 5. He was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said they were investigating the incident.
Winterson was living in Boston as part of an internship program, according to the Belfast Telegraph. He previously played goalkeeper for the Derrylin GFC soccer club.
"The club and entire community have been left devastated," Derrylin GFC said in a statement.
His mother told the Telegraph that her son was a "beautiful, handsome" man who stood 6 feet, 6 inches.
She said he was excited about living in Boston.
"He went out last year on holiday to Boston, New York and Las Vegas and just fell in love with Boston," she told the Telegraph.
