Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Brush Fires, Rowboats and Raccoons

The Mansfield Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to a total of 70 calls last week.

April 16

1:09 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a grill fire on Jakes Way.

3:35 p.m. Caller reported a motor vehicle collision on 46 Chauncy St. The patient refused transport to a local hospital.

April 17

4:26 p.m. Mansfield Firefighters assisted North Attleboro with a brush fire on Route 95.

4:47 p.m. Mansfield Police reported a mulch fire at the Holiday Inn. Mansfield firefighters extinguished the fire.

11:36 p.m. Mansfield Fire assisted Foxborough with a brush fire on East Belcher Road.

April 20

8:01 a.m. Caller reported a brush fire at the intersection of Reservoir Street and South Main Street.

3:20 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a call on School Street reporting a five-year-old was bitten in the leg by a raccoon. The child’s parents refused transport to a local hospital.

April 21

3:07 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a mutual aid call for a house fire in Sharon. One patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

4:04 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that he saw an unattended row boat floating in the middle of Fulton Pond.

April 22

10:02 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting an illegal burn on Jason Lane. The fire went out of control and turned into a full-blown brush fire. The fire was knocked down and extinguished 40 minutes later.

10:17 a.m. Caller reported large fire on Shiloh Road. Fire was an illegal burn and was put out by the homeowner.
