Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Jan. 23-27

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS log.

The Mansfield Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services team responded to a total of 55 calls last week.

9:52 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision involving a utility pole at the intersection of Pratt Street and Hope Street. One occupant was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

11:44 a.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a mutual aid call for a fire in Norton on Evergreen.

Jan. 25

6:39 p.m. Caller reported a diesel fuel spill on Forbes Boulevard from a ruptured saddle tank. Mansfield Fire estimated that there was at least 25 gallons of fuel spilled. The motor vehicle was removed and the spill was mitigated.

Jan. 27

5:28 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting that a motor vehicle had struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Chauncy Street and Central Street.  The pedestrian was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

Jan. 28

10:06 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting an inside odor of gas at the Verizon store on School Street. Detectors found that there were readings inside the Verizon store but not in any of the surrounding stores. The gas company arrived and shut down gas on the entire building and mitigated the leak.
