Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Kitchen Fire, Plane Crash and Horse Crash

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS log from Oct. 15 to Oct. 22, 2012.

Oct. 16

1:37 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision at the underpass on Chauncy Street. One victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

4:31 p.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a mulch fire near the Bank of America on North Main Street. The fire was extinguished.

1:54 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a mutual aid call in Plainville at the Race Course when two horses collided and injured the jockeys. Both were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Oct. 19

12:48 p.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a call reporting fire at 150 Rumford Ave. Firefighters located the problem at a kitchen appliance, which was sparking heavily and caused a fire. The fire was extinguished.

6:40 p.m.  Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call for a motor vehicle collision on Route 495 North near exit 10.

Oct. 20

11:23 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting at the intersection of Chauncy Street and Forbes Boulevard. One victim was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital and another was transported to Norwood Hospital.

Oct. 21

1:19 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a small plane crash at the Municipal Airport. Two were on board, but reportedly uninjured. Approximately 20 gallons of fuel were spilled and firefighters mitigated the leak.

8:14 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS reported a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Chauncy Street and Forbes Boulevard. One vehicle had rolled over on its side. Two patients were treated on scene.
