Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: May 30 - June 6

Calls went up this week.

The Mansfield Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to 65 calls this week, which is a jump of about 30 percent in the past month.

12:48 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident on the intersection of Chauncy St. and Copeland Dr. One occupant was transported to Norwood Hospital.

June 1

5:50 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS committed a full recall to have all available manpower for possible storm impact.

 

June 3

7:00 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a call reporting that an Umpire on Otis St. had been struck in the head by a baseball. Patient was treated on site.

 

June 4

7:59 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting that there had been a multi-car accident at the intersection of Rte. 140 and Chauncy St. One occupant was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

5:08 p.m. Caller reported that an uncontrolled van rolled out the driveway it had been occupying and ran over a 36 year-old female on Fruit St. Mansfield EMS treated the patient on scene while a medical helicopter was on its way to pick her up and bring her to Beth Israel Hospital.

 

June 5

3:19 a.m. Mansfield aided the Sharon FD in a vehicle rollover on Rte. 95 Northbound near exit 8.

3:24 a.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS aided Foxborough FD in a two vehicle accident on Oak St.

3:53 p.m. Caller reported that a kitchen fire had gone out of control. Ten fire units and one EMS unit responded to the call, including fire engines from Norton and Foxborough. Caller reported that there were cotton cloves left on the stove. Firefighters extinguished the fire and shut down the ventilation system to prevent any spread of the fire.
