Mansfield Fire and EMS Log: Sept. 12-18

The following is from the Mansfield Fire and EMS log.

The responded to a total of 52 calls last week.

Sept. 13

12:03 a.m. State Police notified Mansfield Fire and Rescue to a multiple vehicle crash on Route 95 North near exit 6A. One occupant was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

6:30 p.m. Several callers reported a motor vehicle collision at 287 School St. involving a car and a motorcycle. Mansfield EMS transported three parties to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

8:07 p.m. Mansfield, and 11 other town fire departments, responded to a fire at the Miller Recycling Plant on Plymouth Street. One Mansfield Firefighter was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for minor smoke inhalation. All companies were cleared from the building at 2:24 a.m. the next day after fighting, containing and extinguishing the fire.

Sept. 14

1:01 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a vehicle had collided with a tree off of Route 95 South. The Jaws of Life were required to remove the occupant from the vehicle.

8:11 p.m. Mansfield EMS responded to a call reporting a collision involving a motorcycle had occurred on West Street. The driver of the cycle was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

 

Sept. 15

2:00 p.m. Mansfield Fire responded to a mutual aid call from Norton concerning a vehicle fire on Route 495 South. The fire was extinguished.

3:50 p.m. Mansfield Fire and EMS responded to a call reporting a motor vehicle collision on 2 Chauncy St. Parties involved were treated on scene for minor injuries.

 

Sept. 16

9:08 p.m. Caller reported that one of her light bulbs exploded when it was turned on and started a fire in the house. The caller put the fire out with water prior to the arrival of any MFD personnel.
