Mansfield Man Dies in Route 495 Crash

Police said the man was driving a Jeep Wrangler in Middleboro when he somehow lost control.

A Mansfield man was killed Monday night after he lost control of his sport utility vehicle on Route 495 in Middleboro.

State Police said the 40-year-old man was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler on the northbound side of the highway near Exit 6 when he somehow lost control. The vehicle rolled over several times, police said.

The man's was not released; police said they were still in the process of notifying his family. 

The crash happened at about 6 p.m.

The man was transported to Morton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
