A Mansfield man was sentenced to two years in state prison after he pled guilty Tuesday in Bristol District Superior Court to his fifth OUI charge, according to the Mansfield Police Department.

Robert L. Milton Jr. of Mansfield was arrested on July 2, after several people noticed that he was passed out at the wheel of his car at a red light at the intersection of Routes 106 and 140.

Several cars honked their horns when the light turned green and Milton's vehicle didn't move; he only drove off after people began walking up to his car. He was arrested later on and also charged with operating to endanger, to which he plead not guilty.

Watch him get out early for "good behavior" even though he has made the same mistake at least 5 times! I'm sure many more.

Jail time without the proper substance abuse rehabilitation means he probably will reoffend, unfortunately. You can't just tell an addict of any type to "STOP". Punishing for the crime is one thing; getting at the root of the problem is another entirely. We have a very broken system.

DA Sutter just had an 8th offender indicted. Welcome to the state prison booze bag.

It's sad it takes 5 or 8 times to get these people in jail and off the roads where my friends and family drive.
