Mansfield Police Aid in Drug Sting

The following is a press release from the Mansfield Police Department.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2011, the Mansfield Police Detective Unit along with members of the Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force conducted a sting operation whereby 11 persons were arrested for attempting to purchase controlled substances.  The investigation, which began several months ago, was initiated by Mansfield Det. Michael Ellsworth and Officer Kenneth Wright, after receiving information from various sources about the potential distribution of illegal narcotics.

During the 6 hour sting operation, known persons who routinely frequented Mansfield to obtain their drug of choice, were arrested as they attempted to buy drugs from an undercover police officer. 

Arrested during the operation were: Michael Consalvo, 19, of Attleboro; Dylan Morlock, 21, of North Attleboro; Ashley Smith, 24, of North Grosvenordale, CT;  Kenneth Strobel, 23, of Burrillville, RI;  Scott Kelcourse, 22, of Mansfield; Jodi Horton, 38, of Foxboro; Joseph Catarius, 18, of North Attleboro; Kevin Connors, 22, of Mansfield; Christopher Johnson, 23, of Foxboro;  Krystal Beth Orrell, 21, of Mansfield and  Ernest J.  Beland, 22, of Mansfield.  All persons were charged with Attempting to Possess a Class B Controlled Substance as well as Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Acts.  They are all scheduled to be arraigned in Attleboro District Court on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.

Mansfield officers assisting in the investigation were Lieutenant Sam Thompson,  Detective Sergeant Ronald Sellon, Detective Paul Hargadon and Officers John Armstrong and William Trudell.

Northern Bristol County Drug Task Force officers assisting were Norton Police Detectives Lieutenant Thomas Petersen, Todd Bramwell, Jeff Zaccardi and James Franco;  North Attleboro Detectives Sergeant Christopher Ciccio and Michael Elliott; Raynham Detective William Donnelly and Easton Detective Sergeant Jack Lynn.  The task force was established in 2005 with the towns of Mansfield, Norton, Easton, Raynham, Attleboro, and North Attleboro to combat the use, possession and distribution of illegal narcotics in each community.
