Mansfield Police and Town Hall Warn About Scam

The Mansfield Police Department has issued a warning to residents about a scam.

“Local residences and businesses have been receiving calls from parties claiming to be from National Grid or Mansfield Electric concerning past due payments and threatening to turn off their power for non payment,” said a statement from Mansfield Police.

“Do not provide any personal or financial information to these individuals. Please contact your local Electric provider to verify any claims.”

The Town of Mansfield also issued a warning on its facebook page:

“Mansfield Residents - If you receive a call from someone identifying themselves as a representative of National Grid or Mansfield Electric saying that your power will be shut off if you don’t provide a credit card immediately, please contact the Mansfield Police Department. This is a scam!”
