Mansfield Police Log: Coyotes, Hit and Run and Thefts

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log, covering dates Jan. 27 through Jan. 31.

Jan. 27

8:58 a.m. Police found graffiti on the fence on the west side of Medline on West Street.

3:11 p.m. Caller reported a coyote prowling in the vacant lot adjacent to Mansfield crossing.

6:06 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run on Route 140. The caller said that they spoke with the offending vehicle’s operator and suggested they move their vehicles into the parking lot at Stop & Shop to exchange paperwork. When the caller got to the lot, the other vehicle had taken off.

8:45 p.m. Caller reported that a grab and run had just occurred at the Best Buy on School Street.

Jan. 28

9:53 a.m. Caller reported a shoplifting incident at the AT&T store on School Street. The theft was discovered when the manager reviewed the security camera tapes from the previous evening.

2:15 p.m. Caller reported that his vehicle was vandalized sometime during the night. Flour was thrown on the vehicle and a side mirror broken off.

3:33 p.m. Caller reported a larceny of rings.

Jan. 29

12:29 p.m. Caller reported that her tires were slashed during the night while her motor vehicle was parked on Angelina Lane.

Jan. 30

4:30 p.m. Rudolph Balliro, 48, of 137 Mill St. was arrested for possession of a class B substance on Thomas Street. A caller noticed he had fallen down, after what was later found out to be an overdose.

Jan. 31

12:48 p.m. Caller reported that someone had possibly stolen her head light from her motor vehicle.

4:09 p.m. Caller reported identity theft that included forgery and larceny.
