Mansfield Police Log: Lawn Toliet, Hit and Run and OUI

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log from Oct. 26 to Oct. 27, 2012.

Oct. 26

 8:00 a.m. Caller reported that he woke up this morning to find a toilet and a threatening Halloween card on his front lawn.

10:28 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run at the intersection of West Street and Hampshire Street.

10:50 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run in the parking lot of Mansfield High School.

Oct. 27

10:59 a.m. Caller reported a small puppy in the median of Route 140 with a happy birthday balloon tied to its collar. Police found it to be a deceased full-grown cat with a balloon that read “I’m sorry.”

2:26 p.m. Caller reported theft of a check.

2:36 p.m. Taunton Police requested assistance for the arrest of a bank robber from Mansfield but active in Taunton.

3:35 p.m. Caller reported her house was broken into during the day.

7:21 p.m. Scott Cotterill, 48, of 159 Reservoir St. in Norton was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. This is his fourth offense.
