Mansfield Police Log: OUIs, Cable Theft and Girl Scouts

The following are Mansfield Police log entries from Feb. 20-26.

Feb. 20

10:30 a.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that his wallet had been stolen when he left it at a gas pump.

12:57 a.m. Michael Cohen, 32, of 11 Cross St. in Carver was arrested for a second offense of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of property damage (hit and run) and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. A caller had reported Cohen operating erratically, and then reported that he had run off the road, striking a utility pole near the intersection of West Street and Grove Street.

3:56 p.m. Caller reported that someone had cut the cables to generators on Forbes Boulevard and stole 300-400 pounds of cable. Five rolls, estimated to be worth $2,000 each, were taken sometime during the previous week.

8:47 p.m. Caller from the Four Corners Citgo reported that three youths stole candy from the store.

Feb. 22

8:30 a.m. Caller reported two bikes were stolen from his property overnight.

2:22 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that the spare tire from her jeep was taken of the back of her vehicle while it was parked in the Stop and Shop.

2:27 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that his iPod  and $30 were stolen from his school locker on Feb. 13 at the High School.

7:20 p.m. Stephen Sanville, 27, of 5 Plantingfield Rd. was arrested for larceny of property worth over $250. The reporting party stated that she and her husband had gone away for the weekend and her daughter had a Sanville over and he allegedly stole jewelry.

8:26 p.m. Matthew Salovitz, 27, of 30 East Clark St. in Middleborough was arrested for shoplifting by concealing merchandise and attempting to commit a crime after an incident at the Mansfield Best Buy.

Feb. 23

12:43 p.m. Thomas Hasib, 38, of 104 South Main St. was arrested for a misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.

1:03 p.m. Caller reported that her motor vehicle was broken into and cash was taken. Police found that over $500 of Girl Scout money was left in the vehicle.

Feb. 24

8:47 p.m. Caller reported that his friend was involved in a hit and run in the area of Chauncy Street and North Main Street.

Feb. 25

2:23 p.m. Red Roof Inn Employee reported that someone stole a TV from a room they were staying in.

10:50 p.m. Nine individuals were arrested on York road after an anonymous tip came in for an underage drinking party. Several individuals ran into the woods as well.

Feb. 26

1:19 a.m. Thomas DeCarli-Durkan, 25, of 42 Seaver St. in Easton was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for police.

2:53 a.m. Edward Shea, 47, of 18 Robyn Ln. was arrested for one count of domestic assault and battery and nine counts of improperly storing a firearm as to allow an individual under the age of 18 access. Caller reported that Shea struck her in the eye and attempted to choke her.

12:09 p.m. Caller reported that her vehicle had been damaged while parked on Bicentennial Circuit.

1:23 p.m. Caller reported that her mailbox on Grove Street was smashed.

1:48 p.m. Christopher Martin, 20, of 149 Oakland St. was arrested for assault and battery.

5:54 p.m. Michael Lagasse, 31, of 296 North Main St. was arrested for possession of a class E substance.

7:25 p.m. Caller reported that his residence was broken into.
