Mansfield Police Log: Recovered Vehicle, Super Bowl Rings and Shoplifting

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log from June 6 to June 8.

June 6

8:38 p.m. Caller reported spray paint on the front door of a residence on Tremont Street. “Male genitalia” was reportedly sprayed on the door.

4:11 a.m. Plainville Police reported a hit and run in front of the MPlex, offending vehicle may have driven into Mansfield.

12:00 p.m. Caller on Essex Street reported that his residence was broken into during the last week while he was on vacation. Two Super Bowl rings, a jewelry box, passport and loose change were reported missing.

June 8

9:53 a.m. Caller reported damage to her mailbox on East Street.  Police found the mailbox removed and thrown into a neighbor’s yard. Police found another mailbox on East Street missing.

11:08 a.m.  Party reported that her mailbox on Nelson Way was damaged during the night.

1:53 p.m. Providence Police reported finding the stolen Mansfield vehicle from June 25 taken from the Canoe River Campgrounds was discovered undamaged and with its plates. No word on the suspect.

7:25 p.m. John Veinotte, 46, of 79 Walnut St. was arrested for shoplifting by asportation.

8:21 p.m. Marian Capps, 46, and Alfred Gruhn Jr., 51, both of 84 Church St. were given a summons arrest for domestic assault and battery.
