Mansfield Police Log: Sept. 26- Oct. 2

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log.

Sept. 26

4:00 p.m. Caller reported that her laptop was stolen from her vehicle sometime during the weekend.

8:25 p.m. Caller reported that her pocketbook was stolen from her vehicle while she was inside the CVS. A briefcase with library books inside was also stolen.

4:14 a.m. Robert Jones, 54, of 24 Homestead St. in Dorchester was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a vehicle collision, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a license. Police responded to a call reporting that Jones had hit three other vehicles when trying to exit the parking lot on 17 Francis Ave. When Jones’ vehicle failed, he got out and ran into the woods on Francis Avenue.

12:18 p.m. Scott Linehan, 43, of 298 South Main St. was arrested as a fugitive from justice on a court warrant.

8:55 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run at the Stop and Shop.

10:01 p.m. Caller reported that his license plates were stolen from his vehicle.

 

Sept. 28

2:30 p.m. Nicole Penque, 24, of 48 Davis Ave. in Wrentham and John Constantino, 23, of 27 Douglas Dr. in Mansfield were arrested at the Sports Authority. An employee called Mansfield Police when she saw them going into the bathroom together. Penque was arrested and charged with possession of a class A narcotic(heroin), and Constantino was charged with “being present where heroin is kept.”

4:05 p.m. Caller reported that a guitar and book bag was stolen from her car in the parking lot of the CVS.

 

Sept. 29

12:30 a.m. Joseph Poirier, 27, of 12 Pratt St. was arrested for a domestic assault and battery. According to the police, Poirier and his brother were fighting.

3:57 a.m. Caller reported that he was attacked while sleeping. Did not press charges.

5:23 p.m. Caller reported the theft of her brother’s bicycle.

 

Sept. 30

9:30 a.m.  Joseph Rita, 29, of 322 Brahms Cir. in Wheaton, Il.,  was arrested for felony larceny. Caller reported an unauthorized use of a company credit card by Rita, who no longer worked for the company. Rita had over $18,000 worth of unauthorized charges.

9:50 a.m. Caller reported a felony larceny of a coin collection from his residence. Police found no sign of forced entry into the house.

2:09 p.m. Police responded to a call concerning a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Park Avenue and East Street. One seven-month pregnant female victim was taken to Norwood Hospital for evaluation.

6:25 p.m. Caller reported two minors shoplifting at the Stop and Shop. Police made two juvenile arrests and returned the offenders to their guardians.

 

Oct. 1

8:48 a.m. Caller reported that her jewelry and camera is missing from her residence, and believes that there was a break in on Wed.

 

Oct. 2

3:37 a.m. Caller reported that her son had surprised a male party going through the son’s vehicle when the son went out to get a pack of cigarettes. The suspect ran off into the woods.

5:17 p.m. Caller reported that a GPS was stolen from her motor vehicle.
