Mansfield Police Log: Sunday Crime Spree, OUI, and Hit and Runs

The following is from the Mansfield Police Log from dates March 7 to March 11.

March 7

2:50 p.m. Reporting party came into the station and stated that she believes there may have been a break in at her residence on Hope Street. There was no damage to the house; access was gained through an open window.

March 8

12:22 p.m. Mansfield Police, Fire and Electric Department responded to a call on South Main Street reporting arcing wires in the area.

1:44 p.m. Caller reported fraudulent activity on his bank account by way of the caller’s debit card.

5:03 p.m. Caller reported the theft of a bicycle on Donovan Lane.

10:40 p.m. Police found an arcing high-voltage wire on Rumford Avenue. Mansfield Electric dealt with the issue.

 

March 9

9:56 a.m. Caller reported that his stove and dishwasher were taken from his residence and he believes his ex girlfriend has the appliances.

1:04 p.m. Caller reported a house break after reportedly seeing a male party exit her neighbor’s home from the bulkhead and leave in a pickup truck. Homeowner was notified of the situation.

6:17 p.m. Caller said that she was in an accident earlier and the car was towed afterwards. When she went to pick it up, her license plates were missing.

8:17 p.m. Two callers reported vehicular break ins at the parking lot for the Longhorn Steakhouse. A leather jacket, laptop and a duffel bag full of clothes were reportedly taken from the vehicles.

 

March 10

8:16 a.m. Caller reported that his vehicle was struck sometime during the night while parked on Bella Vista Avenue. Police estimated that the offending vehicle would have heavy front-end damage on the driver’s side. Incident occurred between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. of the previous night.

7:26 p.m. Joseph Hicks, 39, of 69 Benjamin St. in Pawtucket, Rhode Island was given a summons arrest for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop for police, misleading an investigator, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of an open container of alcohol and three counts of leaving the scene of property damage.

March 11

9:06 a.m. Caller reported two vehicles in his driveway were broken into during the night on Chestnut Street. Nothing of value was reported taken.

11:25 a.m. Caller reported two vehicles in her driveway were broken into during the night on Bellview Drive.

11:51 a.m. A different caller reported two vehicles in her driveway were broken into during the night on Bellview Drive.

1:23 p.m. Caller reported that her vehicle was broken into during the night. Several stolen items were reportedly found in the woods near the house.

4:02 p.m. Caller reported two vehicles in her driveway were broken into during the night on South Main Street.

4:29 p.m. Caller reported that his bicycle was stolen on North Main St.

5:23 p.m. Caller reported that someone broke into his car during the night and stole his cell phone on Bellview Drive.

8:10 p.m. Robert Perkins, 19, of 369 elm St., Kaitlyn Reeves, 17, of 470 North Main St and two juveniles were arrested for breaking and entering a building, disturbing the peace, trespassing and underage possession of alcohol. Reeves was also charged with possession of a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles. A caller originally said that the group of youths was “squatting” at building on 242 North Main Street.

9:35 p.m. Caller reported that his wallet and two bottles of Adderall were taken from his vehicle while it was parked on Jewell Street.

11:16 p.m. Ian Goldschmidt, 18, of 24 Summit Ave. was arrested for receiving stolen property and possession of a class B substance. Goldschmidt was found to be in possession of the two bottles of Adderall reported stolen an hour and 45 minutes earlier and also in possession of the victim’s wallet.
