Mansfield Police Log Through August 4: Larceny, Shoplifting, and More

The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

August 2

5:50 p.m.  Breaking and Entering (Commercial/Dwelling). Thompson Street. Reporting Party reports she left her residence at 11:30 this morning and returned at 5:30 p.m. and reports her residence was broken into. Officer reports some cash and jewelry was missing. The resident does not know if the doors were locked. 

6:15 p.m. 
Animal Complaint. North White Plane Lane. Reporting Party reports there is a dead coyote in his yard. Animal has been removed. 

7:53 p.m. Shoplifting. CVS, 261 Chauncy Street. The manager reports shoplifting incident just happened. Alleged shoplifter fled in silver sedan with possible plate 461... Officer reports numerous toiletries were taken. 

8:43 p.m. Animal Complaint. Canoe River Campgrounds, 137 Mill Street. Party was walking a dog, when another husky-like dog jumped out of the woods and attacked his dog. 

August 3

1:11 a.m. Disturbance/General. Catman Cafe, 16 Old Colony Way. Reporting Party reports that she was assaulted by a male party wearing khaki shorts, gray t-shirt and baseball hat. 

9:46 a.m. Disturbance/General. Dub's Liquors, 30 Chauncy Street. Manager from Dub's reports petitioners on the sidewalk blocking the path of patrons trying to enter his store. Parties will be packing up and moving to the North Common. 

10:03 a.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Thompson Street. Party would like to report her work bag being stolen from her driveway. 

7:07 p.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Maple Street. Reporting Party report her driver's-side mirror was taken off the motor vehicle while it was parked in front of a house. No damage to the vehicle. Only the mirror was taken, the encasing is still on. Reporting Party reports her daughter saw a jogger stop at the vehicle then turn around and go the other way. Female was 5'6", had blond hair, green striped shirt, and gray shorts. 

August 4 

12:40 a.m. Disturbance/General. Catman Cafe, 16 Old Colony Way. Reporting Party reports disturbance at Catman. Female party refusing to leave. Officer will be transporting female party to her residence in Norton. 

1:20 p.m. Animal Complaint. Rumford Avenue. Possible rabid bat. Disposed of by the homeowner, all clear.
