Marathon Bombing Suspect Wants Restrictions Lifted

Lawyers argued communication restrictions were unnecessary.

By Roberto Scalese

The restrictions placed on jailed Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are too severe, according to his attorneys. The defense team has asked a judge to ease the communication restrictions placed on their client, according to WMUR.

Tsarnaev 's communications were limited at the request of prosecutors, who said he could try to incite more violence, a charge the suspect's lawyers deny.

Tsarnaev's scrawled missive inside a Watertown boat was at the center of the motion Monday, according to the Boston Globe. Defense attorneys argued that Tsarnaev wrote the message because the believed he was about to die. It was not a message designed to inspire more violence, they argued.
