I hate facebook, 8 people liked that photo. "Oh cool a serious accident, maybe people got hurt, I like this"

Don't be so negative. The Facebook people liked the how the guard rail held up to the impact of the crash.

BH, a "like" doesn't equate with "i like this accident". it's basically a "thanks for the info" as often as it could be an actual like. this has been an issue so much that FB is considering (and may already have) created a "i sympathize" button, so that people can show that thought without having to have their 'like' misconstrued as a "wow i love traffic accidents". Similarly, many Twitter users will periodically post a "retweet does not necessarily infer an endorsement".

No, people are twisted, they like seeing accidents, otherwise traffic wouldn't delay on the opposite side of the highway during an accident.

Yes, the rubberneckers. Doesn't mean they "like" accidents. they're curious. And i still maintain that "likes" on FB and favoriting/retweeting doesn't always mean a literal 'like'.

If you didn't want to see something, you wouldn't look.

Right, and people do that all the time, metaphorically speaking! There's nothing wrong with looking over at an accident. It's perfectly natural. If one doesn't take at least a glance at the things in their environment that are out of order, well, that can get us into trouble. It shouldn't slow anyone down. But all it takes is one driver to do so, and there's your chain reaction.

I always slow down to 5 mph, in case it's either someone I know or if a first responder hasn't arrived yet. I'm CPR trained so I'd be willing to help out if the injuries are that serious.

5 mph, you're just gonna cause another accident.
