Police Log: Breaking and Entering, Larceny, and More

Monday, August 26

1:36 a.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Hall Street. Reporting Party reports a white male on a bicycles carrying a half sheet of plywood, wearing a black hoodie, was attempting to break into her vehicle.

9:58 a.m. Larceny (misdemeanor). Monahan Lane. Reporting Party walked into the station to report her bank card was stolen. Clear. Larceny of credit card and subsequent fraudulent purchases occurred at Mansfield businesses.

11:05 a.m. Larceny (Motor Vehicle). Reporting Party walked into the station to report her motor vehicle stolen from the campground.

1:04 p.m. Identity Theft. Angell Street. Reporting Party walked into station on behalf of his elderly mother he believes may be the target of a scam. Clear. No personal information compromised. Log item only. Reporting Party Advised.

7:14 p.m. Reporting Party Reports a male party highly intoxicated walking in the area. Officer reports one male in protective custody. Mansfield Fire Department to transport to Sturdy Hospital.

7:30 p.m. Disturbance/General. Bonney Lane. Reporting Party reports that his neighbor that resides below them threatened him verbally because of his loud walking in the apartment. Officer attempting to speak to other parties. Officer spoke to the other part of the complaint and advised them to take their issues up with management.

11:16 p.m. Arrest Report. Cottage Street. Matthew Scott Englehart, 24, of Francis Ave., was arrested for breaking and entering a vehicle, nighttime felony, and receiving with stolen property-$250.

Tuesday, August 27

10:42 a.m. Breaking and Entering (Motor Vehicle). Reporting Party called to report motor vehicle breaking and entering that occurred last night Reporting Party reports a tupperware container with approximately $5.00 in cash taken from the vehicle between 7 and 10 p.m. last night. Officer will check report for last night, may be related to arrest last night.

8:58 p.m.  Harassment/Threats. Mill Street. Reporting Party reports threatening phone calls from a male he used to work with.
