Police Log: Copper Theft From St. Mary's, Shoplifting from Game Stop

The following information was provided by the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

At 8:29 a.m., police received a report from St. Mary's Church that a copper downspout was stolen. 33-year-old Michael Belcher of Mansfield was arrested and charged with larceny from a building and malicious damage.

At 1:48 p.m., a caller reported that a loose dog ran into her yard on Jason Lane. The Animal Control Officer picked the dog up. 

At 4:23 p.m., the manager from Game Stop reported that someone tried to shoplift by removing an item from its packet and putting it in his pocket. When he was approached, he dropped all items and ran from the store. 

Wednesday, Jan. 8

At 6:50 a.m., a resident reported that her car was broken into sometime overnight on Thornton Road.
