Police Log: Malicious Damage, Shoplifting, and More

The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

Tuesday, October 15

1:20 p.m. 
Shoplifting. CVS, 261 Chauncy Street. CVS employee called to report an attempted shoplifting just occurred where a white male party in his late 40s/early 50s with a mohawk, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, attempted to conceal over the counter medication. 48-year-old Robert DeMarco was located on Chauncy Street at Winthrop Street, taken into custody. All items recovered. Bail set at $500.

2:44 p.m. Malicious Damage. Maple Street. Reporting Party into the station reports his mailbox was damaged overnight by a large rock. 

3 p.m. Disturbance/General. Erick Road. Caller reporting a male party going through the dumpsters looking for cans and defecating behind the dumpster. Clear--suspect admitted to taking cans and urinating behind the dumpster. While on scene, officer located hypodermic needles and secured the, for proper disposal.

3:39 p.m. Larceny (Felony). Rumford Avenue. Reporting Party walked into the station to report a past motor vehicle breaking and entering where personal checks were stolen and cashed at Mansfield Stop & Shop. Reporting Party will bring more bank information tomorrow.
