Police Log: Man Arrested For Assault with Dangerous Weapon

The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

Thursday, Sept. 12

At 12:03 a.m., police arrested Robert B. Carnie, 44, 487 Stearns Ave., Mansfield, and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon. A woman reported that she was buying a television on Stearns Avenue when Carnie reportedly chased her off the property with a stick or club. She said her money was stolen. Police arrested Carnie.

At 1:33 a.m., a person reported that a man was sleeping on the curb in front of the Sunoco on Copeland Drive. Police responded and the man said he was taking a nap. He told police he drank a Red Bull and was all set.

At 7:44 a.m., police received a call from East Street after a hit-and-run accident.

At 10:46 a.m., police summonsed an Easton man to court for operating a motor vehicle after his registration was revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police pulled over the man on Pratt Street.

At 2:10 p.m., police received a call from Chauncy Street after a driver in a black pickup truck reportedly backed into another car and left the area. Police took a report.

At 6:52 pm., a person called from Franklin Street to report a possible breaking and entering in a vacant home. The break-in occurred through the basement door and a bulkhead door was also broken. Police believe the person who broke in may be a squatter. Police will increase patrols in the area.

Friday Sept. 13

At 8:44 p.m., police received a report of a car break-in on Winthrop Avenue.
