Police Log: Slashed Tires, Shoplifting from Stop & Shop, and More

The following information was provided by the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Sunday, Jan. 12

At 1:20 p.m., a resident reported that his condo on Reservoir Street was broken into. He reported that access appears to have been gained through a weird slider. Police reported that there was not entry was gained into the condo but a rear window was broken in an attempt. 

At 1:26 p.m., a resident reported that her mailbox on King Arthur Way was damaged overnight. 

At 4:40 p.m., police received a call from Stop & Shop reporting a man wearing a stocking cap stealing detergent. When he noticed that Stop & Shop employees caught on to him, the shoplifter put the products down and left in a light colored, possibly gray, Jeep Cherokee. 

At 9:35 p.m., a man called to report that his tires were slashed on Nelson Way. Police spoke with neighbors, who didn't see anything.
