Police Log: Two Mansfield Men Charged With Fraud

The following is from the Mansfield Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned they do not indicate convictions.

Monday, Oct. 28

At 7:17 a.m., police arrested Hakim L. Funches, 38, 14 Pearl St., Apt. 4, Dorchester, and charged him with violating an abuse prevention order.

At 12:48 p.m., a Mass DOT official reported to police that he found malicious destruction of a light pole on South Main Street.

At 2:28 p.m., police arrested Michael E. Skane, 23, 1 Old Colony Way, Apt. D3, Mansfield, and charged him on two counts of uttering a counterfeit note, larceny more than $250, attempt to commit a crime to wit larceny more than $250 and conspiracy to commit larceny more than $250; and Tyler Adams Merola, 21, 1 Old Colony Way, Apt. D3, Mansfield, and charged him with uttering a counterfeit note, larceny more than $250 and conspiracy.

At 5:16 p.m., police received a report from Glen Street after a resident reportedly threatened to shoot a teenager’s dog. The man acknowledged that he did come out with a pellet gun to scare off the dog and made the remark, but only to scare the dog. The man said he would apologize to the teen.

Tuesday, Oct. 29

At 9:26 a.m., a person called police after reportedly seeing a man dressed in camouflage possibly with a gun who walked into the woods. Police did not find the man.

At 10:29 a.m., a Charles Street resident reported someone broke in to his car. Police received another call from a Charles Street resident four hours later reporting the same crime.

At 4:48 p.m., police responded to Chauncy Street concerning a car accident. One vehicle was towed. A driver was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.

At 5:51 p.m., police summonsed a 17-year-old Norton driver and charged her with failing to stop for police and speeding. Police pulled over the teen on Reservoir Street.
