Small Plane Crash Reported Near Mansfield Airport

The pilot and the passneger onboard the aircraft are reportedly uninjured, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Foxborough are assisting the Foxborough Fire Department and Foxborough Police Department at the scene of a small air craft crash at Mansfield Airport, according to a news release Sunday afternoon. 

The pilot and the passneger onboard the aircraft are reportedly uninjured. The scene is being secured pending the arrival of investigators from the Mass Aeronuatical Commisson.

Mansfield Fire Department personnel are working to free the aircraft and its occupants from the tree line at the airport, according to Sunday's news release.

A small plane has crashed near Mansfield Municipal Airport, according to reports Sunday afternoon. 

The plane was reportedly suspended 25 feet in the air, held up by trees in the area. 

The pilot of the plane reportedly self-extricated, with no immediate injuries reported, according to a report on Twitter from @SatelliteNewsUS.

Mansfield Police would not provide details on the matter immediately Sunday afternoon, but did confirm the crash took place.
