Mansfield Fall Town Meeting Articles: Chocolate Factory, North Common and Tri Town Sewer

A smattering of the articles to be included in the Mansfield Nov. 13 special fall town meeting.

The Mansfield Board of Selectmen reviewed the current articles on the special fall town meeting Nov. 13.

Among the articles for the meeting is a measure that would attempt again to get permission to adapt the famous ADM Lowney Chocolate Factory into apartments.

Joseph Mulkern put the measure forth before the 2012 Spring Town Meeting, but during the meeting itself decided to withdraw the petition, after school and town officials did not give their recommendation. Now, he’s trying again.

Another article on the warrant includes a measure to appropriate $11,000 for town bylaw codification, review and online posting that was put forth to the board earlier in the year.

Also, $400,000 was appropriated to begin to design the basins of the wastewater plant, a cost that will be shared by the towns of Foxborough and Norton.

“Work needs to get started immediately to get the permitting done,” town manager William Ross said.

The warrant also included an appropriation for $30,000 for the replacement of the North Common Flagpole.
