Feds to Evaluate Hatheway & Patterson Site

The site is a former wood-preserving facility.

The Environmental Protection Agency will conduct a review to determine the safety of the former Hatheway & Patterson site, according to the Sun Chronicle.

The 40-acre site is a former wood-preserving plant. It closed in 1993. The company left behind underground storage tanks which contaminated nearby soils, according to the EPA. Remediation work was done, and the site is now a parking lot for a MBTA commuter rail stop.
