How Would You Rate Mansfield's Town Manager?

Mansfield's selectmen gave Ross glowing scores.

If you were to write up William Ross' report card as Mansfield's town manager, what grade would you give him?

For the town's selectmen, Ross' job performance has been exemplary as they gave him an overall score of 9.83 out of 10, reports The Sun Chronicle. Ross scored highest in legislative relations and budget preparation, though none of his scores dropped below 9 in any category. He has consistently scored high with Mansfield's selectmen since he was appointed in 2010.

How would you rate the town manager's performance?

He seems to really have the town's best interest at heart. Besides if he passes muster with George Dentino then I think it's safe to say he's A OK.

I'm just against the position of town manager rising to a $160k+ a year job. When will it stop? The last Cambridge town manager was making about $350k and now has a pension of about $240k. Seems ridiculous, but in 10-15 years Mansfield will be approaching unprecedented numbers in town employee salary. It is moving towards a non sustainable level and all people do is defend their unions and contracts. The town salary budget is in no way reflective of the U.S economy.

I totally agree with you on the salaries - they're out of control.

He is being lauded for passing on a pay raise. Let's not forget he is a retiree from public service in the midwest and already has a pension.

Seems reasonable. Just watch what happens to this town and your taxes with 2%+ raises across the board YOY.
